Serenity by Neil Morris

Serenity by Neil Morris

On September the 21st, I was dashing around north Birmingham searching for the fibreglass owls that make up The Big Hoot trail. One I found was number 62: Serenity by Neil Morris.

Neil Morris ( a.k.a. ‘Mish Mash’) has been enjoying street art as a hobby for some years. Neil took the pseudonym ‘Mish Mash’, as his ideas never stayed fixed on one style, but were constantly changing, causing a mish-mash of images.  Whilst his ideas may be eclectic, he mostly creates his works using stencils and a collection of spray paints.

Neil started out painting with friends at the skate park, which quickly lead to joining others at ‘paint jams’ and events.  These fun, street art encounters prompted Neil to see more events in the north of the country and he then set up and ran Up-North-Fest, alongside Optiknerve.  Since then, Neil has enjoyed creating further events, as well as getting out and painting a few walls and shutters along the way!
