Last night I received my tenth postcard from End to End after recording 874 miles of my trip from John O’Groats to Land’s End. I have copied the text in the email below so that my readers can follow the story of my trip. I have also linked this paragraph to the End to End website which I encourage everyone to look at. As I have now completed my virtual journey down Britain, I am still searching for sponsors to add to the £400 already raised for Ataxia UK. My JustGiving page is linked to at the bottom of this page.

You’ve done it!! 874 miles!
Hats off! You rock! Well done! You’ve completed JOGLE!!
Known as Belerion (The Shining Land or Place Of The Sun) in Ancient Greek times, Land’s End is a treasure trove of history.

Throughout the ages, Land’s End has held a fascination for many people and the place has inspired many stories and works of art. The mythical ‘Lost Land of Lyonesse’ is said to lie beneath the waves between Land’s End and the Isles of Scilly. According to legend, Lyonesse was a rich part of King Arthur’s realm that was drowned by the sea on a cataclysmically stormy night.

The view from Land’s End is stunning. As you stand atop towering granite cliffs that rise 200 feet up and out of the Atlantic Ocean, you can see all the way to Longships Lighthouse, the Isles of Scilly (which are twenty eight miles away) and even all the way to portions of North America.

Now off you go to enjoy your much deserved rest!! Don’t forget to take a selfie at the sign post!!
