Around 30km, you enter Canary Wharf, London’s modern financial district.
This area was once one of the busiest docks in the world, playing a major role in global trade. Over time, it was redeveloped into a centre for international business, now filled with skyscrapers and major financial institutions.
The marathon route winds through these streets before looping back out, creating a section that is known for testing participants both physically and mentally.
Historically, these docks handled goods arriving from across the British Empire, connecting London to the wider world.
For many, this is the toughest part of the journey.
And that is exactly why it matters.
