Postcard #5 Received

Postcard #5 Received

Last night I received my fifth postcard from End to End after recording 315 miles of my trip along Route 66. I have copied the text in the email below so that my readers can follow the story of my trip. I have also linked this paragraph to the End to End website which I encourage everyone to look at. As I continue to chip away at my virtual journey along Route 66, I also wonder if I can count on your support and encouragement by sponsoring me. My JustGiving page is linked to at the bottom of this page.

Dupo is an interesting mélange of culture – prehistoric Native American, French, German, and modern American. Paleo Archaic Native Americans lived in this resource rich area as far back as 8,000 B.C.E. The Mississippian Native Americans developed the resources of this valley from C.E. 850 to C.E. 1500 only to disappear until archaeologists uncovered their huge complex.

Here ice cream is not just an after meal treat.

Craving something sweet? There are a zillion ways for you to get your ice cream in Dupo. Stop at Ted Drewes Frozen Custard or cruise into Sundae’s Frozen Custard for a mouth watering experience.

I am a little confused because even though my End to End virtual map confirms that I have cycled 315 miles along Route 66, The virtual map now says that I am in Missouri while according to this latest postcard I am still in Illinois.

I will carry on cycling and see where I end up next. In the meantime you can sponsor me on my trek along Route 66 in aid of Ataxia UK by clicking here.
