Postcard #7 Received

Postcard #7 Received

Last night I received my seventh postcard from End to End after recording 570 miles of my trip from John O’Groats to Land’s End. I have copied the text in the email below so that my readers can follow the story of my trip. I have also linked this paragraph to the End to End website which I encourage everyone to look at. As I continue to chip away at my virtual journey down Britain, I also wonder if I can count on your support and encouragement by sponsoring me. My JustGiving page is linked to at the bottom of this page.

Risk it for the biscuit!

Your future self will thank you for taking on this challenge! You are doing brilliant!

Shrewsbury is a place that has played a part in Western intellectual history, by being the town where the naturalist Charles Darwin was born and brought up. The town is home to the Ditherington Flax Mill, the world’s first iron-framed building, which is commonly regarded as “the grandfather of the skyscraper”.

Take your time to explore The Quarry Park. If you’re in need of some live entertainment, to distract you from what’s ahead, the variety at Theatre Severn is awesome.

A few miles after Shrewsbury, you’ll go through Shropshire Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) which is absolutely stunning!

Don’t miss Stokesay Castle, it was constructed at the end of the 13th century by Laurence of Ludlow, who at the time was one of the richest men in England. It remains a treasure by-passed by time, one of the best places to visit in England to experience what medieval life was like.

No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the sofa!

I will carry on cycling and see where I end up next. In the meantime you can sponsor me on my trek from John O’Groats to Lands End in aid of Ataxia UK by clicking here.
