I have not been writing these Emergency on Planet Earth blogs for a while as I have been busy with other projects and quite frankly I am a little tired of the whole Covid crisis at the moment.

I am more bothered about trying to live for the moment and squeeze what I can out of life.  Unfortunately, now that I can see why we must make the most of every single day, the opportunities to do so are not there…

This morning, I actually contacted Wire & Sky – an company that offer urban aerial adventures – to request more information about the possibility of abseiling down the Shard.  I definitely need to inject some excitement into my life and I was delighted when I was told that I would be able to take part in this novel challenge.  However, it is extremely frustrating that such an adventure will have to be put on hold due to the Covid situation.  

I am also still waiting to hear back from ICS regarding my re-assessment, while my advocate has not been in touch for a couple of weeks.  I really need to sort this situation out and it must be my main priority over the coming weeks.

If all that wasn’t enough, I am being driven to distraction by the Seventies disco duo Baccara.  I really enjoy  listening to their one hit – Yes Sir, I can Boogie – but whenever I listen to it, I recall comedian Tony Hawks pointing out that the pop princesses actually appeared to be singing about how they can Boogie-Voogie.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? It would be easy to accept a repetition of Boogie or even a description of how they Boogie-Woogie.  The video below clearly shows that this is not what they sing and the listener is left to decipher what is meant when Baccara celebrate their ability to Voogie.

It is these inconsequential matters that really bug me, and succeed in taking my mind off the pandemic that surrounds me and threatens our very existence.  Whatever happens, I hope that I finally solve the riddle of this song, before it is too late.
