I live with Friedreich’s Ataxia, which is a progressive, genetic disease of the nervous system that only affects one in 50,000 people. I never let this cruel disease stop me achieving things and it is rather ironic that the biggest challenge I face to enjoying an independent life, does not come from Ataxia at all, but from the cruel intentions of Wrexham County Borough Council.
My aim has to be to make a real difference to our society while I am still alive and kicking. I will do this by exercising to keep myself healthy – both mentally and physically – while also raising money for Ataxia UK in the hope that they will support others in the way that they have supported me in the past.
I will be keeping my readers fully updated as I complete the cycle from John O Groats to Land’s End – and remember that this section of the journey is simply part of my ultimate goal to pedal the distance from Wrexham to International Drive, Orlando as I promised in my GoFundMe campaign earlier in the year.
Time is at a premium and I do not want to waste a single second, but I have decided to start this journey from John O Groats to Land’s End on October 1st.
Please back me as I perform this virtual journey and I will keep everyone up to date with my progress via my social media channels.
Thanks in advance for your support.
