Over the coming weeks, I will be adding a match programme for each of the games that I have focused on in Dirty Old Town.
This is the programme from the League Division Four match against Peterborough United at London Road on 20/08/60. Wrexham lost the game 3-0.After being relegated from Division Three the previous season, Wrexham began life in the basement with a difficult fixture against Football League newcomers, Peterborough United at London Road. The Posh were famous FA Cup giantkillers and had slain a number of League clubs over the years, so a tough task was in store as Colwyn Bay-born Billy Morris took charge of the Reds for the first time.
The chapter goes on to summarise the match against Peterborough United and our season at this level – cups and all – as each chapter in Dirty Old Town does. This creates the ideal gift for all true Wrexham fans.
