Well, that was a surprise.

I am used to receiving boring brown envelopes in the post informing me of changes to my benefits or junk mail promoting the latest offer at my local Domino’s.  It is not everyday that a mysterious envelope is pushed through my letterbox, but it happened today…

I had to read the following letter 3 or 4 times to fully digest what it meant, but basically it seems as if I have been awarded an honorary fellowship by Glyndwr University for my Services to Disability Rights.  This is amazing news and such a personal honour.  I can’t get over it as I do not understand why I have been chosen when all I do is moan – although I do excel at it.

My head is in a whirl at the moment and I have so much to do before my PA leaves this afternoon, so for now I will just leave you with a copy of the letter I received this morning as I allow this news to sink in.  Thank you to whoever it was that nominated me for this recognition, it means a lot.
