On September the 18th, I was racing around Birmingham City Centre searching for the fibreglass owls that make up The Big Hoot trail. One I found was number 2: Jewellery Owl by Susan Gutherie.

Sue Guthrie arrived in Birmingham twenty years ago, when she came to study for an MA in fine art. She specialises both in painting and digital media and now works predominantly to commission.
Her clients include BMW, Relus, NHS and John Lewis. Her inspiration generally comes from, as she puts it, ‘faffing about’ with images and thinking about the context in which they will be seen.
