On September the 18th, I was racing around Birmingham City Centre searching for the fibreglass owls that make up The Big Hoot trail. One I found was number 59: Bob the Bat by Ruth Green.

Ruth Green is a printmaker and illustrator, based in Birmingham.  She trained and worked as a textile designer, before making the break to work as a freelance artist, in 2003.  Her work is sold in galleries, at art fairs and also, through her website.

Ruth has written and illustrated two children’s books, and also produces greetings cards and surface applications.  An active member of the ‘Girls Who Draw’ collaboration, Ruth took part in their recent projects at The Royal Shakespeare Company and the new Library in Birmingham.
