On September the 5th, I was traipsing around Birmingham City Centre searching for fibreglass owls. One I found was number 56: Unity within Diversity by Somia Jamal.
Somia’s ‘Unity within Diversity’ owl is inspired by the artist’s native homeland, Pakistan, and in particular, an artform known as ‘Pakistani Truck art’ (also known as ‘Mobile Art’). This big-hearted owl is vibrant and bold in colour. Take your time to appreciate this stunning design’s diverse, intricate patterns and symbolism from across the country, its mosaic-like eyes and myriad exotic birds and flowers.
